All three Deli Delicious Bakersfield CA locations have reportedly closed, joining Elk Grove, Tracy and about a dozen other franchise-owned victims of the troubled franchise chain. The Bakersfield Deli Delicious franchise owner is said to have lost upwards of $2M.
(UnhappyFranchisee.com) All three of the Bakersfield Deli Delicious franchise locations have reportedly closed.
Calls to the Deli Delicious at 9801 Hageman Road #200 in Bakersfield are answered by a recording: “We’re sorry, but you’ve reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service.”
The phone for the Deli Delicious sandwich shop at 9000 Ming Ave, #O5, in Bakersfield, CA just rings and rings.
Email inquiries sent to the Deli Delicious Franchise Inc. home office, to Executive Vice President Ali Nekumanesh and to Customer Service have not been answered.
According to the Deli Delicious Franchise Disclosure Document, the Bakersfield franchises are owned by franchisees Navdip Badhesha (“Nav”) & Tarnvir Dhaliwal (“Lali”).
Those close to the franchisees who owned the Bakersfield stores say they have lost nearly $2,000,000 by trusting Mohammad Hobab, Ali Nekumanesh and Deli Delicious Franchise Inc.

Deli Delicious disproves the myth that franchise ownership is necessarily a safer route than operating an independent business.
Many Deli Delicious franchise owners say they are fighting for survival not because of the pandemic, but because of a dictatorial and misguided franchisor whose greed has stalled growth and is bringing down the entire chain.
In 2018, company principals Mohammad Hobab and Ali Nekumanesh began forcing franchisees to replace their freshly baked bread with frozen loaves they are forced to purchase from a company owned by Hobab and Nekumanesh. The franchisor, Deli Delicious Franchise Inc., has diverted resources and focus from supporting franchisees and building the brand to promoting the bakery venture and suing franchisees and employees who opposed the mandate to lower quality, higher profit (at least for Hobab and Nekumanesh) bread.
Mohammad Hobab is so fierce in his mandate that franchisees only buy bread from the bakery he owns, court testimony indicated he threatened to castrate and kill an award-winning franchise owner and have his family deported to Iran. Deli Delicious is now believed to be the only sandwich chain in America that uses frozen-and-thawed bread for its core product.
Deli Delicious Franchise Inc. is reportedly trying to slow the shrinking of the chain by taking over struggling franchise stores, with little to no payment to the owners who already invested hundreds of thousands of dollars.
As reported, the 47-unit Deli Delicious Franchise Inc. is not registered and cannot legally sell new franchises to replace its closures… which now exceeds a dozen.
