We received the following franchise warning about the MATCO TOOLS franchise opportunity.  According to commenter “TOMMY CHEUNG” :

“STAY AWAY FROM MATCO TOOLS. THEY WILL SELL YOU A BILL OF GOODS,WHICH IS NO GOOD.

“RUMOR HAS IT ,MATCO MAKES MORE MONEY SIGNING NEW FRANCHISES THAN THEY DO TAKING CARE OF THEIR CURRENT ONES.

“DARYL PRITCHETT AND MIKE RAMEY WORK TOGETHER TO SIGN YOU UP AND THEN KICK YOU TO THE CURB. I AM WORKING ON A LAWSUIT AGAINST MATCO, HOPING TO TURN IT INTO A CLASS ACTION SUIT. YOU MAY CONTACT JERRY MARKS AT MARKS AND KLEIN LAW FIRM AT [redacted], IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

“I INVESTED ALOT OF MONEY IN MATCO AND AFTER 3.5 YEARS THEY SHUT ME DOWN. WHEN THE ECONOMY SLOWED IN 2008,THEY PUT ME OUT OF BUSINESS.

“I ALSO SPOKE TO A PREVIOUS EXECUTIVE, WHO CALLED ME, AND STATED THATS THE WAY MATCO DOES BUSINESS. STAY AWAY FROM MATCO TOOLS AND RUN LIKE HELL WHEN YOU SEE THEM. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY OR INVEST IN MATCO TOOLS…”

Marks & Klein is a legitimate franchise law firm that often represents franchisees in lawsuits against their franchisors, but we haven’t verified with them whether a lawsuit against Matco Tools is in the works or not.

    Tim, I am not in love with myself, just defending the attacks.

    Not patting my self on the back….just defending the fact 12k a week is obtainable.

    Never said that you didn’t do those numbers, people on here dont think those numbers are obtainable.

    Please grow up? I would think I have been relatively calm considering every name i have been called, and the attacks. I am not complaining I am just saying.

    I think you are. But it’s ok, I have that pic up in my truck, my clients get a kick out of it. There’s even a better winners circle one if you look. BUT that hair is 100% the real deal. Even shaved it bald one time, 30 days and I was getting it cut again.

    hey matco#1 just finished route and paper work. best week ive had missed 15k by 6.00 sold 2 boxes and loads of tools. boy love my job. and i love my truck.its right outside…

    Matcoman, just make sure you plan prior to going to expo.
    A lot of distrbutors don’t have a plan, they go there, see all the deals get home to about 5 pallets of tools then a $50,000 toolbill with no way to pay.

    So figure out a budget, what you can afford weekly. They will give you 12 week terms, so if you can afford $2,000 a week in deffered, you know your budget has to be $24,000, make sure you stick to it.

    My advice, the day it opens, walk to every vendor, ask for a catalog or cd, you should be able to go thru in an hour. Then take them to your room. Now go back down to the expo and take your time and walk thru, talking to the vendors and ask them questions.

    Make sure you go to the training classes, even if sounds boring…go, if you take one or two things from each class you will improve your business.

    Last thing go to the piano bar at NY, NY….awesome time!

    I showed my wife the video, she didn’t take offense to it, she thought it was true, she said every distributor should watch it. She is so smart.

    No I don’t sing or play, they would kick me out. It’s dueling piano players, basically a comedy show, but the audience gets involved its a riot!

    Also be sure to buy lots of RedBacks at Expo since they are a Matco exclusive…………..oh wait, I forgot about last year in Orlando when Matco tried to pawn off those Chinese Shield boots and RedBack told Matco to FO.

    Nice move Matco, Oakleys will be next.

    I have been to everyone…however have yet to sign up this year…not sure. Mom and Dad going, will definately go visit them since its a short drive.

    Agree matcoman, something did come out of it.

    Think about it though, if you are redback why would you limit yourself to 1 company. It was great for us, still is, my shoe sales havent gone down. Snap on guys are selling the snap on chinese boots. Do we even cary the chinese boots anymore, I don’t know of anyone who ordered any.

    Oakleys, no issues there, MATCO and Oakley are tight!

    Good question why would a vender put up with matco’s crap (ie: RedBack) My boot sales went up by 30-40% when the price went down. Matco needs to be put in check on alot of items. Not to worry about Okaley due to their sales volume if Matco screws with them they will drop Matco like a bad habit. Please all DBR”S talk to venders about everything.

    Here’s a news flash for you…………Snap-Off is selling RedBacks, MAC is too, ANY independent can get them through ISN. What part of exclusive don’t you understand ? The only reason the price went down is because Matco dropped the ball with those crappy Shield boots.

    I have sold countless pairs of RedBacks but when the price went far to high due to Matco Greed my sales went down. When my customers can buy a pair of Whites for the same price ( not that I expect anyone here to know the brand Whites) but give me a freaking break. I did buy the ISN starter pack but since Matco pulled their head out I have gone back but don’t take my money for granted.

    Careful boys,

    You are admitting on a website that you buy product outside of Mato which is a direct violation of your Matco Contract. Who knows who might have been terminated for the very thing you are doing and yet somehow you still manage to hold on to your Franchise agreements while others have been CHURNED.
