Max Ogle, Christy Ogle, Rockport, Texas Warning & Complaint Update
Have you had an encounter with Christy Ogle and/or Max Ogle? The couple recently operated from the Fulton / Rockport, Texas area… before that West Texas… and before that, Waco / Hewitt. Please share your experience & warnings below.

Powered only by our whistleblowers and individual contributors who care, Unhappy Franchisee has provided critical warnings, prompted state and federal investigations, helped shut down dozens of scams, and prompted federal indictments and prison sentences for two now-convicted fraudsters. While most of our anti-scam initiatives involve investments of hundreds of thousands of dollars, one ongoing program warns homeowners and would-be handyman service providers about Max Ogle and Christy Ogle, who have a history of collecting thousands or tens of thousands of dollars for remodeling, home repair or other projects they never satisfactorily complete.

Sometimes Spouse. Full-Time Scam.
Between 2019 and 2021, UnhappyFranchisee.Com published nearly 20 posts warning about Max Ogle, Christy Ogle and their Sometimes Spouse handyman franchise scheme.
FRANCHISE WARNING: Sometimes Spouse, Christy Ogle
Christy Ogle / Sometimes Spouse FACT CHECK Initiative
Sometimes Spouse was a Waco-based company the Ogles founded with Christy’s friend, partner & CFO Crystal Sherrard (now Crystal Stewart).
All of their Sometimes Spouse franchisees lost their investments, the Ogles declared bankruptcy, and left a trail of botched handyman jobs and unhappy customers in their wake.
Sometimes Spouse CFO Crystal Stewart (then Crystal Sherrard) was sued for having signed a contract for billboard advertising the company never honored. The billboard company incurred substantial additional expense and lost time pursuing the debt and still never got paid.
Crystal Sherrard aka Crystal Stewart’s Appeal of Monetary Award (PDF)

(Crystal Stewart claims to be an innocent victim of the Ogles, whom she trusted. While she does not appear to be a scammer like the Ogles, personal experience suggests Crystal Stewart her husband, Jimmy Stewart, of Whitney, Texas cannot always be trusted to honor their word or their agreements.)
The Ogles Continued to Deceive & Bully Both Customers & Subcontractors as Sometimes Spouse
Even after the collapse of the Sometimes Spouse franchise and the Ogle’s bankruptcy in 2020, the couple appear to have continued their pattern of collecting upfront deposits for remodeling and repair work then bullying and threatening both the customers whose work was not completed and subcontractors they did not pay.
Whistleblower Alex Lopez recounts what he had to endure when he sought to collect what he was owed:
Max & Christy Ogle Have Been Operating Under Various Company Names in Rockport, Texas
With their reputation burned in Waco, the Ogles moved four hours south to the gulf coast area of Rockport and Fulton, Texas.
They operated under a number of business names include Rockport Handyman, Coastal Construction & Concrete, Coastal RV Repair and Power-Washing, Coastal Power Washing, Gypsiez, YoloLifeCo (Etsy), Bad Ass Jeep Gypsiez, Bad Ass Gypsiez Marketing, and more.
When googled, their business addresses often turn out to be post office locations. For example, the registered business address of Coastal Construction & Concrete (301 Cactus #2417, Fulton, TX 78358) is actually the Fulton, Texas post office.
Better Business Bureau Complaint 07/28/2025:
Hired Coastal Construction & Concrete to build metal building Failure to construct building to industry standards – building is 8 inches out of square – building size is 2 feet smaller than agreed on – overhead doors will not fit (2ea were suppose to be provided and installed) – metal trim installed is marginal at best – incorrect trim installed and placed upside down – new metal installed is about 50% damaged due to poor installation methods – metal is not secured to framing (flaps in the wind)- walls are not true and plumb…
Better Business Bureau Complaint 09/18/2025:
I gave a deposit of $7500 to Coastal Construction and Concrete for replacement of a metal roof on January 2, 2025. Work was to begin by the end of the month. Work being delayed because of Matt’s health was understandable. Since then I have been given start dates and material delivery dates that have not been honored. Now he wont return my calls. Email received December 6, 2025:
We hired Max Ogle/Rockport Handyman’ to paint the interior of our home. They have caused over $22,000.00 in damages.
There are others on the Rockport Community Blacklist page.
We were new to the area and did not find out any of this until we were well into the project.
Sincerely,

We’re Proud to Have Saved Another Disabled Veteran from Being Scammed
I received an email November 19, 2025:
Hello, my name is [redacted] I found your article about Max and Christy Ogle and I must say I wasn’t completely surprised to see the franchise fraud and perjury associated with the Ogles.
They are currently in the Rockport, TX area.
My husband and I are both seniors; my husband is a 100% disabled veteran. I believe Mr Ogle considered us a easy mark.
I had the misfortune of hiring Max Ogle with Coastal Construction and Concrete to build a metal carport roof.
His workers made a complete mess and the roof leaks. After his 3rd attempt to fix the roof I stopped payment on the final check.
He has sent a threatening letter say if we don’t pay him within 5 days, he will have us arrested and prosecuted.
He’s threatening to place a lien on our property.
I wanted to thank you so much for publishing your article so now I know exactly what I’m up against. These people are professional crooks.
I wish I could get some help stopping them from scamming anyone else… at least we can warn people about them…
Once again, I thank you for that article because without it we probably would have paid them…

Why are these people not in jail? I was in the market for an RV cover, Max and I talked on the phone, then I sent him a text, asked for references, and then the owners name. I noticed their FB page had no likes or comments, started prying teeth, and he finally shared his name. A quick google search took me here, and now he’s not responding. Tried to scam me for $18K. Please law enforcement, take these idiots off the streets and internet for scamming unsuspecting people. A good lesson in doing your homework for any work to be done.
