PIRTEK USA CEO Kim Gubera has expressed deep concerns that any connection or association between their franchise company and PIRTEK’s former superstar franchisee Jim Lager could cause serious damage the PIRTEK brand.
Two years ago, PIRTEK chose not to renew Lager’s franchise agreements despite his having the third highest sales in the nation.
While PIRTEK paid Lager $453,000 and agreed to discontinue using his name, likeness and success story to promote its franchise opportunity, the hydraulic hose sales and service company has apparently had difficulty removing the dozens of promotional “associations” with Lager that PIRTEK USA created in search engine results and across the Internet.
So Unhappy Franchisee is volunteering to help
Our “Protecting PIRTEK Progress Report” is Designed to Help PIRTEK USA Break Its Dependence on the Jim Lager Success Story.
We are helping PIRTEK USA disassociate from former franchisee Jim Lager by providing URLS to content the company placed years ago, but has somehow not removed.
The handy list below will provide attorneys Michael Joblove & David Kaufmann with an ongoing record of PIRTEK’s extraordinary effort to comply with its September 5, 2020 settlement agreement and protect itself from the top franchisee it made a competitor.
We will check the status of PIRTEK’s & Ms. Gubera’s removal efforts periodically, and celebrate their protection of the brand for all franchisees and stakeholders around the world.

Success #1 Lager on PIRTEK USA’s server – REMOVED On February 7th, 2022 we informed PIRTEK USA CEO Kim Gubera that the main full page photo promoting the PIRTEK franchise was visible on the PIRTEKUSA.Com website. The site featured a full page photo of Jim Lager. It had remained public for 18 months past the settlement agreement requiring PIRTEK to discontinue using Lager’s name, likeness & story to promote its franchises. PIRTEK didn’t acknowledge our notification, but the image was removed the following day |

Success #2 Lager & Illegal Earning Claim on 1851 Magazine – REMOVED PIRTEK USA, attorney Michael Joblove, & arbitrator David Kaufmann contended advertorials like 1851Magazine’s feature on Jim Lager & his record sales were on 3rd party sites & not under PIRTEK’s control. However, 1851 is paid content posted by PIRTEK’s then-PR agency. Publisher Nick Powills removed it immediately after a brief exchange with Lager. Powills said he would have removed it at any time if he had been asked. |
