Pro Golf Franchise Complaints.  What happened to Pro Golf?

(UnhappyFranchisee.com)  In 2005, Entrepreneur magazine named Pro Golf as the #1 Golf Franchise in America.  In 2012, the SBA crowned Pro Golf as the #1 WORST franchise – the worst of the worst – in terms of SBA franchise loan defaults.

The Pro Golf franchise has the tragically high SBA loan default rate of 76%.

According to the Small Business Administration, Pro Golf franchisees received 36 SBA-guaranteed loans since 2001; 76% of those loans have been defaulted on by Pro Golf franchise owners.

The Pro Golf Franchise has a failure rate of 76% for SBA-backed franchise loans

Franchisee failures proved to be the undoing of the Pro Golf franchise (Read PRO GOLF OF AMERICA Franchise Ends in Chapter 11 Asset Auction)

What’s sad is that it’s likely that Pro Golf franchise owners who received SBA loans may have collateralized their franchise loan with their houses or other personal assets, and more than three-quarters of them were unable to repay those franchise loans… despite serious incentive to do so.

Are you familiar with the Pro Golf opportunity?

What do you think accounts for the SBA loan failure rate of Pro Golf franchise owners?

What steps should Pro Golf have taken to stop further franchise failures?

Had Pro Golf taken serious action to address the problems that led to the 76% loan failures?

Pro Golf is the biggest scam I have ever heard of.  They promised everything and delivered nothing!  I almost lost everything because of their con!  Once the Franchise fee was paid I would only hear from them when I did not pay them additional commissions.  They did the a business plan for me to take to the bank and it was full of bull.  They told me that the only way I could get the big name brands was to franchise with them.  Then when I tried to get these brands I was told by some of them that because I was a Progolf Franchise they could not open me.

They are all liars and cheats!

Unfortunately for the remaining franchisees and myself, the new ownership was under capitalized and the downturn in the economy hit at the same time creating a “perfect storm” for lack of a better explanation…

No one wanted this brand to succeed more than me, and this was very difficult time for all involved. For what was once a great retail brand, this was a very sad time for all.
