Pingback: WORST FRANCHISES IN AMERICA by SBA Loan Defaults : Unhappy Franchisee
I was at Togos in Stockton CA. Worst service. Was not greeted then when I left didn’t say thanks. Was getting attitude while ordering. I asked for my family size sandwich to be cut in 6 pieces and she cut it in 5. Then started playing with her phone before handing my food over.
Every saturday I go get 2 sandwichs at Togo’s Haward. there was a hair in my son sandwich. We were not happy! We took the heir out and ate the sandwich.
“We took the heir out and ate the sandwich.”
Was the heir apparent?
I called the vineyard center togos to order two sandwiches. I was initially put on hold then when I spoke to the employee to order, who never identified herself, I uttered two words and she interrupted and replied ” so that’s three large?”… I told her I had not ordered yet and if she would allow me to finish? She said sorry, yes. I ordered a small and large #9. One is h mustard and mayonnaise only and one with everything. She said OK it would be 10-15 minutes. I was unhappy with the employees service so I called back to speak with the manager. Another employee, make, answered the he phone and essentially said she was too busy. I asked him again to have her come to the phone. She did…and it was the first employee I had put the order in with. I explained why I was unhappy and was told she was just busy. She went on to say she couldn’t just leave her customer when I called and I suggested she should better train her employees on proper telephone ediquet. A few moments later, my wife arrived to pick up the sandwiches unbeknownst as to what hat transpired. She was told they were in the middle of making sandwiches and never got the full order???? Really???? Couldn’t handle the order of 2 sandwiches???? I will never spend another dime in a Togos facility.
BUYER BEWARE Most reviews here focus on the customer service experience. However, regarding the consideration of a Togo’s franchise, buyers should be aware:
I have to keep my name ANONYMOUS as I’m fearful for my own safety and to protect myself from even more intense targeting and being preyed upon by TOGOS Corporate as I am on the brink of losing everything, I can’t get legal help as I was duped into signing any rights i would have had and I’m trapped no matter what I do.
This is a predatory and flawed concept stuck in a time warp, falsely portraying itself as a profitable and desirable franchise. It is quite the opposite. The corporate team enjoys playing with your livelihood. They will send their business managers to your store to constantly interfere and harass you. These very business managers post false reviews online posing as customers to create an illusion of necessity for their jobs and to justify their harassment, playing with the livelihoods of the unfortunately victimized owners. They constantly request updates and target any owners who challenge their unethical practices. Their success rate is very low, and they use the small handful of profitable stores as smoke and mirrors. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a class action lawsuit yet, but it’s only a matter of time.
In a nutshell, if you are looking for a quick-serve franchise, this is not the one, whether new or resale. Talk to their franchisees, not the ones the corrupt corporate staff suggest, to find out the truth about this money pit. Look at other new, relevant, and unique franchises, and if you really want to be involved with Togo’s, do so only at arm’s length as a DoorDash driver. Do not work for this company, and certainly do not invest in them. This is not targeted at the franchisees who are unfortunately trapped and trying to keep from losing their homes. This is targeted at the lies and corruption of Togo’s franchise corporate staff and their employees. Read about the practices of franchises like Quiznos and the toll on its franchisees, leading to their demise due to the practices of the franchisor. Togo’s is a carbon copy of these predators, a struggling, predatory, Ponzi-like company with aggression levels far surpassing time-share reps, who will do whatever it takes, regardless of the cost to the franchisees trapped by their franchise agreement, to keep their lie going. BUYER BEWARE please do not get entrapped by this Franchisor. No matter what happens next and if I lose everything including myself I will expose them without recourse at that point as I will have nothing left to lose and I have all the evidence documented, on video , recordings , emails , text messages!
