• According to Chris Gregoris: “First off, south amboy is a co branded unit and recently closed for the winter, has not been shut down for over a year. Secondly, south plainfield is also preparing to close for the winter months and re open in march.”

  I have marked South Amboy, NJ and South Plainfield, NJ as seasonal locations. They are currently closed for the winter.

• So amboy is closed and has been closed for good. I can supply the owners contact detail. In their height they reported doing 50 dollars again and still have the initial yofresh cups were out dated when my store opened up in february. I”d be more than delighted to forward their contact detail. Per my convo with the wife and husband team they’ve not been visited by the franchise rep in almost 2 years. I was wondering why they didn’t even have a phone number on the franchise website as that’s a store they don’t want anyone visiting. I have pictures also. Please verify and after verification mark close accordingly.

• Added to the list above, closed store in San Antonio, TX 19141 Stone Oak Pkwy Ste 303 Looks like it was rebranded Loving It Yogurt – not sure if it has the same owners.

  Most of the reviews are from 2012, but the Grand Opening for Loving It was September 2013.

  Chris: Are there others that have closed that we don’t have on the list?

• South Amboy is permanently closed and has been for a little over a month, the company learned today.

  According to my list, there have been a total of 31 YoFresh Cafes opened with 7 closures (comes to about a 23% closure rate).

  I’ve been doing an analysis of several frozen yogurt chains.

  Red Mango’s FDD shows that 2007 – 2012 there were a total of 224 US locations opened with 63 terminated or ceased operations, which comes out to 28%

  TCBY has had 526 opened with 172 terminated/non-renewed/closed, which is about 32%. They have a large number of transfers which would push it up to 35% if those were considered failures (as they were likely sold at a loss).

  Menchies (7%) and Yogurtland (2%) report much lower closure rates, though they seem to have a lot of agreements signed but not opened (SNOs). Menchies has 283 SNOs and Yogurtland has 80. Yogurtland has a lot of transfers so its real failure rate may be closer to 10%.

  To be fair, YoFresh’s closure rate seems to be better than some of the bigger chains, but worse than others.

• I had a coupon for the Quakertown, PA Yofresh that expired 12/31/2013. Several times I was out shopping and wanted to stop there. They have weird hours and didn’t realize that. Finally, I stopped on the afternoon of Friday, December 13. There was a sign on the door “Closing December 15th. Reopens in the Spring” The place was already closed for the Winter and my coupon will soon be useless.

  The place looked clean, but not used.

• Hey Chris, whatever happened to the YoFresh Princeton store you had taken franchise fees for. I do not see them listed on your coming soon page anymore. They did tell me they we’re lied to by ken mason about the buildout and equipment cost. Just hope you did right by them and they’re not also one of your victims. I know there’s a lot of people crying foul but don’t worry I’ll help you keep those numbers down.

• Also, the YoFresh in Etters PA is listed for sale for $90,000.

  It’s been open less than 1 year. The initial lease runs through January, 2019 with two (2) additional five (5) year options. The current monthly rent is $3,200 which includes CAM.

• Bethlehem PA YoFresh is confirmed closed. According to Chris Gregoris “Bethlehem had a lease buy out from landlord. There’s a large national tenant who was willing to buy out existing leases to be there and our franchisee took it.”

  Quakertown PA Yofresh is suspected closed, though Chris says it’s just closed for the winter. However, the phone number is not in service and the store website is no longer active.

  Many stores are reportedly closed for the winter and hopefully will be reopening in the spring.

• Etters PA YoFresh is for sale on Craigs list for $90K just $10K down and the $10K transfer fee at closing

• YoFresh Newton / Newtonville is now closed. That’s the 18th closure out of 41 opened.

• Is yofresh Quakertown still open chris? I’ve checked the website fb page and called the number and it’s seems it’s disconnected. Please let’s me know Chris I’m very concerned.

• I was in quakertown today and decided to stop In for some frozen yogurt and found that yofresh quakertown was closed. I inquired further from other stores around and was told they’ve been closed for the last three weeks. That closed sign didn’t state a reopen date plus the fb page is down also the phone does not work and the outdoor signage was not lit. I’ve taken pictures that I’ll supply to the moderator of this forum. Please provide some insight Chris I’m very concerned. If the store is reopening I’d love to stop in.

• When is yofresh south Plainfield reopening Chris? On the fb page there are disgruntled customers wondering when’s the reopening. Could you please shed some light on the Quakertown store situation, I’m very concerned Chris.

• Chris just learned that the franchisee sold her equipment and will not be reopening.

  I think since YoFresh does not collect royalties he doesn’t get the word right away when a store is not reopening.

• It’s a great feeling to have people who were thinking of opening with Chris Gregoris thank me for providing truthful information on this franchise that prevented them from making the horrible mistake of doing business with this bunch. I’m being told I’m being made out to be someone deranged but after talking with these potential franchisees they sing a different tune. Before bringing the fire to Chris I can’t imagine how many of these stores opened up an closed with no record of them. I know your game Chris and the lights are on for people to decide if your dealings are wholesome. I refuse to be one of those franchisees you ruin and push to the side.

  Your February 10, 2016 Press Release stated: “Currently, Kwench Juice Café has a opened location in Boston with many more under way in: Huntsville, Alabama; Tampa, Florida; Naples, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Boston, Massachusetts; Brighton, Michigan; Raleigh, North Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”

  6 months later, your website still lists only one location open and two coming soon (Providence, RI and Raleigh, NC)

  What happened to Huntsville, Tampa, Naples, Atlanta, Brighton, Charlotte and Philadelphia?

  Did these people pay you $21,500 each for a Kwench Café?

  9 locations, that’s $193,500 that you and Dennis collected. Are any close to opening?

  Of course, you will claim that you paid all these people back their franchise fees in full, just like you supposedly paid back Mr. Ng the $29,500 he paid you for the illegal YoFresh franchise you sold him.

  Please provide me with the names and contact information for those who paid you for Kwench franchises after receiving your deceptive FDD so I can verify that they got their money returned in full.

  Dipietro et al. v. Java’s Brewin Development, Inc., Christopher Gregoris, Dennis Mason and Franchises Unlimited, Inc. 1:08-cv-01620 (E.D.N.Y. filed April 18, 2008)

  This lawsuit was initially filed in New York State Supreme Court, Kings County (Index No. 6857/08) by six New York based franchise groups, comprised of fourteen (14) individuals (“Plaintiffs”), who entered into franchise agreements with Java’s Brewin Development, Inc. (The state court action was subsequently removed to federal court.) The Plaintiffs alleged that Java’s Brewin Development, Inc., through its agents Christopher Gregoris and Dennis Mason sold the Plaintiffs their respective Java’s Brewin franchises in the State of New York during a time that Java’s Brewin was not properly registered to offer or sell franchises within the state of New York and that Gregoris and Mason provided Plaintiffs with “information” regarding Java’s franchise system comprised of material misrepresentations and omissions as a means to induce Plaintiffs into investing in their Java’s franchises.
