CUPPY’S COFFEE: Dale Nabors Divorce Filing

It seems that the business debacle of Cuppy’s Coffee has claimed another victim:  The marriage of Natalie & Dale Nabors.

The Lauderdale County, AL Divorce Filings dated 07.29.2010, reported on the website ShoalsInsider.com, included names familiar to those who have followed the story of Cuppy’s Coffee:  Natalie Kocian Nabors vs. Robert Dale Nabors.

Robert Dale Nabors was first a franchise consultant to the Ponzi-scheme-like Cuppy’s Coffee, then actually acquired the franchisor Medina Enterprises and all its related entities.  He attempted to relocate the embattled company from Fort Walton Beach, FL to his hometown of Muscle Shoals, AL.  The company soon imploded in a cloud of scandal, lawsuits and controversy.  It’s likely more than 300 franchise purchasers lost investments ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Dale Nabors has been named in multiple lawsuits, and he and his wife Natalie have been arrested for passing bad checks.

  • Personally, I could care less about their marriage breaking up. That's a different subject. What I would really like to see is the monies being returned to all the investors who had hoped to own a business.

  • She could have sold all that inventory they left behind in the FWB offices too. I hope she doesn't have to sell any of her genuine Coach bags to raise cash. Now that would be tragic!

  • Would there be any upside to getting divorced as a way to protect assets (if there are any) in the many lawsuits levelled against Dale? Could this be a tactic? I have no idea how that works.

  • oh yes, there are many upsides to getting a divorce, I wouldn't put anything past Con Man Nabors.....and ole Nat is just as guilty as he is. I certainly believe this is a major tactic happening
Jutta, there is not a fat chance of any of us getting any money back, that money has been spent or is hidden very well. I think it is hidden, how could Dale and Morg (The Rawman) Morgan live everyday and not work.....they are exisiting on OUR MONEY!!!!!!
We franchisees that have been scammed, we can never slink away, we need to stay in the light, raising Hell and let these filthy people know we will never go away.......we need to go to Washington and lobby and be heard and try and not let this happen to anyone else, I don't want anyone to go thru the Hell me and my family have endured.....Legislation needs to be passed and franchise laws need to changed to protect the franchisee.....

  • Dale Nabors had nothing to do with the AAFD award. He inherited it from the 'raw' guy, who probably wouldn't want to own the little statue. From day 1, the raw guy actually worked hard every day to build a viable business – Maybe it grew too fast - some things most definately went wrong.

Dale is an inept fool, who was immobilized from day one of ownership (after raw guy wasn’t there to give him assignments) - every stiff move Dale made – every order he barked seemed dirty and underhanded. Talk-talk-talk – slow and southern with a lot of ponderin’ b-tween - I think he actually thought it might be workin’. It’s really too bad the truth will never come out – after Dale took over, the "raw guy' kept giving Dale the little bit of $$ he had left at the end to keep the business afloat. Dale took the last of 'raw guy's' limited funds and tanked it anyway.

Maybe that was his plan all along. Maybe he didn’t know how to keep it going. Raw guy actually drove to Muscle Shoals and upon witnessing the shocking conditions of the 1 room office in the 2 room shanty –and the employees who hadn’t been paid for a month, he gave each of us $20 to get us through until Dale pulled his head out, which never happened. We actually saw raw guy give Dale a little cash after Dale whined about his kid not having money for a school project. At least 'raw guy' took care of people while he was there.

Dale Nabors was a big-talking, wart-faced prick from the second he took over. The whole buy/sell transition smacked of little wart-man’s blackmail tactics. He went in like a banshee and ravaged the business. Literally, when he moved to AL, the offices were left looking like a hurricane hit them – drawers of empty file folders (not too hard to figure out what happened to the paperwork) and boxes full of franchisee files with lots of their personal information – just left in the hands of whoever found it! There were no signs of Wartie’s ‘good intentions’ left in those FWB offices at all – nor anywhere else.

Some of us actually witnessed these things – as in… we SAW it. This is not just more speculation. Anyone who wants to comment on this situation should be required to take a polygraph test. I’d be first in line.
Raw guy has his own problems, but consciously stealing from people isn’t one of them. The records show at least $3M missing after Dale took over. $3M divided among the people who were wronged would help some, right? Dale has an empty void where his heart should be. God help him find it. God help us all.

    – Peace out

  • The press release for Dale Nabors & FranSynergy's purchase of Medina, Cuppy's, Elite etc. is April 22, 2008.

Are you seriously suggesting that all was in tip-top shape at that time? Are you saying that Robert Bobby Morgan's Medina Cuppy's Elite scam machine had not already scammed dozens if not hundreds out of their "refundable" deposits not to mention the equipment from Elite they never received?

Bobby Morgan was a scam artist back when he got nabbed for insurance fraud. Bobby Morgan was a scam artist when he was taking Java Jo'z deposits and keeping them. And he was certainly the mastermind of the Cuppy's scam before warty Dale got left holding the bag.

Cuppy's franchisees might never get a dime back, but I don't think they'll ever give up warning people about raw food Bobby Morgan no matter where he hides or what variation of his name he tries to use, Robert Morgan, Morg Morgan, Rawman Walking, Bobby Morgan, whatever.

  • Is this you, Sean? Can anyone else have an opinion. This is not black or white.
Did I say tip-top condition? no! I said there were problems. All this scuttlebutt is so ridiculous - asinine!
As far as the refunds: The big problems started with Scoble, who wrote a post-dated check for his deposit and then had the co. hold off cashing it for about 4 months. Then he worked the company to death and was never satisfied. Location after location he blew off. We could do nothing right for the guy.
The whole big situation with help from the blogging internet, started a mob and people got crushed.

  • The company was in trouble and Dale Nabors marked his prey and then he took them out. Everyone knows, he was a blogger like you, Sean. You all take care of your own.
Tthe raw guy goes way out on a limb in business and he kicks his own butt doing it. Maybe he tries to do too much too fast. He gets way too chummy with his staff and that's a big problem. He doesn't seem to be a theif. He does get ahead of himself. A lot of people think he could have fixed it if he'd stayed. I think so too.

  • By December of 2008, raw guy and Brian Hayes had worked tedious hours + paid their own travel expenses to come to some kind of agreement with Dale Nabor's to have him back away so they could get some building built. Dale would agree and then disappear time after time. I know that raw ad Brian talked to several franchisees to get their building going and Brian actually built some, but Dale never agreed to have any money sent to anyone but him.
*Raw and Brian are dead broke having spent the last of what they had to salvage what they could. SOme people were taken care of.
*There is a $3M gap in DN's books.
(Both of these facts are recorded in God's Book)
