It seems that the business debacle of Cuppy’s Coffee has claimed another victim: The marriage of Natalie & Dale Nabors.
The Lauderdale County, AL Divorce Filings dated 07.29.2010, reported on the website ShoalsInsider.com, included names familiar to those who have followed the story of Cuppy’s Coffee: Natalie Kocian Nabors vs. Robert Dale Nabors.
Robert Dale Nabors was first a franchise consultant to the Ponzi-scheme-like Cuppy’s Coffee, then actually acquired the franchisor Medina Enterprises and all its related entities. He attempted to relocate the embattled company from Fort Walton Beach, FL to his hometown of Muscle Shoals, AL. The company soon imploded in a cloud of scandal, lawsuits and controversy. It’s likely more than 300 franchise purchasers lost investments ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Dale Nabors has been named in multiple lawsuits, and he and his wife Natalie have been arrested for passing bad checks.

...AND... as far as Dale's slogan, "Believe and Succeed." ?? Why would he change it now? It worked for him. It's his mantra! He probably hums it to summon the devil.
"Is this you, Sean?"
No, this is me. You know I'm not shy with my identity... or opinion.
"Everyone knows, he was a blogger like you, Sean. You all take care of your own."
You are WAY off there. You will never find me defending Dale Nabors.
In fact, the first time I came in contact with him was on Blue Mau Mau. He was a blowhard franchise consultant who suddenly began defending Java Jo'z online.. obviously one of a few ya'll paid off. A poster suddenly anonymously start making personal attacks on those warning about this fiasco, especially me and Paul Steinberg. One slow night Dale was on, then suddenly an anonymous commenter started posting stories that I was a drunk, living out of my car, that I sold them a franchise & cheated them, etc.
It was funny (kind of) since I never sold franchises, am not a drunk ( I AM from a family of alcohol/drug counselors, though) and, (as I didn't buy a Cuppy's) haven't lost a house yet. It was obvious (to me) that it was Dale and that he was a slimy little weasel who deserved whatever Karma had in store for him.
I do feel bad about any family (with kids) breaking up but I know that he brought it on himself through arrogance & greed. Plus, he's no blogger.
As for Morg: You are clearly in denial. Look at his track record. When 4 companies of his in a row end up in scam allegations and lawsuits, you can't say it's coincidence.
BUT I admit that I don't get Morg. I do think he believed his own fantasy. His Rawman story certainly showed self-delusion. But does that really matter to those who trusted him and whose money he took?
If you ever want to change my mind off-line, email me at unhappyfranchisee[at]gmail.com. I'll keep an open mind.

Roy was actually the Grandaddy of the Cuppy's debacle, as he was the founder of predecessor Java Jo'z.
Roy Snowden's house is now valued by Zillow at $847,000, a drop of $1.5M from the asking price 2 years earlier. Actually, Zillow put the value at $1.5M 2 yrs ago.

Admin, what's interesting, is the fact that Kim Snowden is a plaintiff claiming 'Loss of Consortium'.
Reading the complaint, makes me wonder if the attorney that filed the lawsuit knows that Roy is in prison. It says he started taking a certain medication in Dec 2007 (I think he was in jail at that time). But the complaint states:
'...Kimberly M Snowden has been deprived of the benefits of their marriage including her husband's love, affection, societ, and consortium, financial support and other hubandly duties and action'
I'm pretty sure that being in prison it's hard for him to financial support her.
'...Kimberly Snowden also suffered the loss of her husband's daily and regular contribution to the household duties and services, which each once did provide to the household as wife and husband'.
Again, how can the effects of the medication effect his household duties when he is in prison.
Maybe an attorney could add something to this.
I will try to get the pleadings and look at, but jd, I think that these are standard form pleadings. Even while in jail, people are entitled to conjugal visits.
Entitled to conjugal visits? I'm not writing from experience but I don't think that is an entitlement in federal prison.
@Guest,
You are absolutely right and I was wrong:
http://motherjones.com/politics/2008/07/how-get-conjugal-visit
Still scamming! Just when I thought the world was heading off in a new direction, I see things are just the way they always were.
My God... just when you think this saga couldn't get anymore bizarre...
JD: can you give the quick 411 of the case? Was this about a medication Roy or Kim were taking? Or did Roy drop some J&J soap?
"Chutzpah" used to be defined as a boy killing his parents then pleading for mercy because he's an orphan. The Snowden's may just prompt an additional definition. Something about not being allowed to screw people (over). Webster?
For those who don't know their pre-Cuppy's history, Roy & Kim Snowden (allegedly) made a lot of money running one those (allegedly) insidious door-to-door magazine sale rings where they (allegedly) drive disaffected teens and runaways to distant cities and (allegedly) to sell door-to-door. Roy went to jail for tax fraud & not reporting income/assets gained from that World Media International Inc.
Snowden's Java Jo'z licensing (alleged) scam gave Robert "Morg" Morgan both the template and foundation for the Cuppy's operation. Morgan converted Java Jo'z to Cuppy's when RoyBoy went to Club Fed.
Admin: I'm not well versed on it, but it seems like he was given medication that could have harmful side effects related to it, but was approved by the FDA. Seems like they are claiming that the defendant didn't disclose all of their research.
I could be wrong, so I'll defer to Michael who has experience reading pleadings.
