CUPPY’S COFFEE: Dale Nabors Divorce Filing

It seems that the business debacle of Cuppy’s Coffee has claimed another victim:  The marriage of Natalie & Dale Nabors.

The Lauderdale County, AL Divorce Filings dated 07.29.2010, reported on the website ShoalsInsider.com, included names familiar to those who have followed the story of Cuppy’s Coffee:  Natalie Kocian Nabors vs. Robert Dale Nabors.

Robert Dale Nabors was first a franchise consultant to the Ponzi-scheme-like Cuppy’s Coffee, then actually acquired the franchisor Medina Enterprises and all its related entities.  He attempted to relocate the embattled company from Fort Walton Beach, FL to his hometown of Muscle Shoals, AL.  The company soon imploded in a cloud of scandal, lawsuits and controversy.  It’s likely more than 300 franchise purchasers lost investments ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Dale Nabors has been named in multiple lawsuits, and he and his wife Natalie have been arrested for passing bad checks.

  • In Reponce to all the comments on this matter , firstly i like to inform you all that Dale and Roy go way back, to the magizine buisness. I am assuming this law suit is another devised plan to come up w/ some $$ seeing for over 30 years Roy has been making money off others and I am sure there is no $$ coming in. The fact that upon going into Prison Roy had repaid nearly $900,000.00 dollars back to the IRS is a concern to me ...where did he get that kinda money. However I digress, unfortunatly Roy and Kim confirm to us over and over again the kind of people they are. You may all want to look into a Mr. James Anderson who was also a mangaer for Roy in the Days of World Media International. He was very loyal to Roy and followed him on to Java Jo's. I believe he also went on to Cuppy's. He also was paid in cash only. I as a former magazine sale person (swindler) for Roy and James no there are so many more that should have been prosicuted or investigated for tax fraud. I pulled my credit report from that time and realized my taxes were over reported and had a tax lien which prevented me from buying my first house for a while. Hopefully w/ the power of the internet Roy will NEVER be able to do buisness or swindle anyone out of any more money.

  • Found this posting by Admin from lamost two years ago, still rings true today because it is the truth:

The company was NOT better under Morg Morgan, it just FELT like it was because Morg is a professional, polished and highly skilled illusionist. Folks, there WAS no great company, not even a viable company. You were not being paid and your day care was not being supported by people’s purchases of cups of coffee – like a legitimate company. Your paychecks and daycare was being paid by people who were deceived into wiring the company their life savings to those who knew exactly what they were doing.

Next time you’re tempted to say “At least when Morg was running things…” remember that when Morg was running things millions of dollars of people’s life savings were being sucked out of their accounts and their dreams were being dashed to make his Jaguar, Harley and condo payments, as well as your paycheck to keep the illusion going.

  • B. Hoo:

Dale Nabors was a colleague/employee of Roy Snowden back before Java Jo'z? I have never heard that before. I received an email stating that Dale actually ran one of the magazine crews for Snowden at World Media International Inc.

I always assumed Dale Nabors was a semi-legit franchise consultant/broker who first learned about Java Jo'z and Cuppy's in the blog debates. I knew he ran telemarketing for the Dwyer Group (Roto-rooter, etc.) before his FranSynergy business. Interesting.

Anyone else have knowledge of how Dale first got involved or whether he was involved in previous (allegedly) shady dealings?

  • What? You make no sense. You are weird. Trying to have a conversation with you is kind of like trying to swat a buzzing fly. You make up stupid stuff about people. And there is no such word as "firstly."
Try to understand - You ARE out from under the rock. I said, "Get back under..." Oh never mind.

  • Thanks for correcting my gramatical mistakes, nice to know we have a scholar such as your self policing the spelling mistakes of others high five! Too bad you couldn't have your vast knowledge to help your budy Roy! High five! Get a bunch!

  • "Firstly" is a word. Perhaps not correctly used here but it's a word.

More important, what's the deal behind the Dale/Roy connection?

  • def. first·ly (fûrstl) adv. In the first place; to begin with.
example: firstly, morg morgan took millions of dollars. secondly, dale nabors took what was left. thirdly, tey got what was coming to them.

  • Guest, you are WAY incorrect on your thirdly example! Those 2 crooks haven't even begun to get what's coming to them.
