While many complain that Dale Nabors does not return correspondence quickly, Bob Purvin’s pay-the-piper-or-else email got a prompt response. In fact, Dale pretty much tells Bob to bugger off, that he’s not going to pay the $350 an hour ransom the AAFD charges to play kissy face with franchisors.

Thanks for the email! As I’m sure you know, I am working around the clock to resolve the many challenges which Cuppy’s and related entities are faced with now and into the future. I did not cut off contact with you. Your calls and emails simply were not a priority following our last phone call (the 3-hr call), in which it was quite obvious that it all came down to MONEY for you and the AAFD. I did not and do not believe that we need to be spending money with the AAFD at this time. Monies which in my opinion would be better used towards Opening Stores, Settling Refunds and increasing Unit Profitability. As I asked on the call how do I explain that I’m spending these $$$$ with the AAFD, at a time that other items MUST take a priority.

I would like to ask you:
Why is the franchise Agreement any less fair?
Did we not have 3-Years to form a FOA?
Did we not create a reasonable alternative to the Co-Op?
Why should we use the AAFD for mediation at $350 per hour, when the IFA is providing the same service at no charge?
I do not want an adversarial relationship with you or the AAFD —- I do not want to bring harm to the AAFD — At the same time…..I do not want to be held hostage by the AAFD! I did not create this mess, and I’m committed to doing the best job that I’m capable of doing to clean it up. Will I be successful? Only time will tell. The company has (prior to the change in ownership) spent a large sum of money with the AAFD, I CAN NOT at this time justify spending additional money with the AAFD.

I’m open to any and all communications that are geared to helping Cuppy’s and it’s franchisees. I am not open to spending large sums of money which does not directly lead towards opening stores, resolving refunds, increasing unit profitability AND preserving the brand! So, if you have ideas which mesh with our objectives, I’m open to discussing them…otherwise I do not know that we have anything to discuss.

  • Bob should feel honored that Dale answered his email because Dale is not doing much of that lately. Sure Dale can ASK questions but has anyone heard any answers from him that were followed up on? Or answers to where he has used franchisees' money? Dale doesn't want to be held hostage by the AAFD. Haha! That is a good one! Cuppy's franchisees are being held hostage by Elite/SBT/Cuppy's.

  • Dale Nabors is the most fun thing to ever come down a "dirt" road. Dale Nabors is working around the clock all right...just ask any franchisee that has called and wanted to speak with him. Just as he states, " calls and emails aren't a priority." He is right about one thing he states, " it all comes down to money." Let me tell you abou the money...He's giving Cuppy's franchisee's who want their deposit back their money alright. How about $1000.00 now and $100.00 a month for the next what....30 years? And Nabors calls this "Settling Refunds?" How about "Increasing Unit Profitability?" How many Cuppy's closed this month? Mr Unit Profitability? As for the Francise Agreement being fair or not who cares...you will never sell another Cuppy's on this planet. Three years to form an FOA? LOL In three years there want be one Cuppy's left. You say " you're open to any and all communication" ROFLAO Your last sentence is the best, " You're open to discussion, but you don't have anything to discuss. That last sentence of the email to Purvin is so Dale Nabors. HE TALKS IN CIRCLES AND SAYS NOTHING

    If nothing else Mr Nabors...you sure keep us humored with your "jibber jabber."

  • I was told that Federal charges were served to Dale Nabors yesterday. Does anyone know the particulars? Does this mean we will be getting our money back? Did it have anything to do with him not paying his employees and stealing from them? I understand there have been numerous resignations because of his dishonesty, and cowardly way of meeting with and following up with franchisees. Would be very interested in what happened yesterday when he was served with the Federal charges.

  • WHAT ABOUT MORG!!! YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT!! FEDERAL CHARGES IF NOT ALREADY WILL BE AGAINST DALE, MORG, MEDINA, ELITE, CUPPY'S, SBT, MBM. EVERYONE IS SCREWED, INCLUDING MEDINA EMPLOYEES!! (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BROWN NOISERS THAT ARE MOVING TO ALABAMA... NO, WAIT A MINUTE... THEY ARE PROBABLY SCREWED TOO. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW IT YET). NO ONE WILL RECEIVE ANY MONEY BACK...   • It's amazing - after reading all of the negative crap on the 'net about Cuppy's and Dale Nabors - that I'm able to get up every day, go to my cafe, wait on my happy customers, and continue on with operations as usual.

    My advice to those of you who are expecting intimate up-to-the-minute conversations with Dale ... give the man a break. He inherited a shit storm, and it's going to take time and perseverance to get through this.

    In the meantime, I recommend you all cut down on the caffeine - your nerves seem to be frazzled. Try to stay positive ... your negative spewing all over the 'net isn't helping anyone, and may even be hurting those of us who are open and trying to make a go of it!

    I would settle for intimate up-to-the-month conversations with Dale. We have been waiting for our "conference call" with Dale for over a month now. Dont think he is going to respond.

    I really am glad you have happy customers and are doing well. Please forgive us who are losing everything for complaining.

    I am happy to hear of a successful franchise with Cuppy's. I wish you all the best and nothing but success. Please understand that you and your case are the exception with this franchise. Cuppy's has defrauded many franchisees and refused to refund the zees the money that is rightfully theirs. No one wishes to see franchisees that are fortunate enough to be open ill-will, however, when Dale Nabors refuses to speak to us on the phone or return emails, we feel this is the best way to get to him. We have exhausted efforts to reach Dale. Feel free to leave us a phone number to reach Dale or other significant players on so we can take other courses of action.

    I have to admit at this point, Rick's comment sums it up pretty well. I think we all stand a better chance of hearing Amy "moo" than get a phone call from Dale.

  • The Fort Walton Beach office was closed as of Friday 09/14/08 due to the lack of rent payments. The employees of that office where stiffed out of their last three weeks pay. Dale is a loser and that is a fact! He knew the problems he was taking over when he got involved. I don't feel sorry for his sorry ass. He and not Morg continued to screw employees and franchise's!!
