“RUMOR HAS IT ,MATCO MAKES MORE MONEY SIGNING NEW FRANCHISES THAN THEY DO TAKING CARE OF THEIR CURRENT ONES.
“DARYL PRITCHETT AND MIKE RAMEY WORK TOGETHER TO SIGN YOU UP AND THEN KICK YOU TO THE CURB. I AM WORKING ON A LAWSUIT AGAINST MATCO, HOPING TO TURN IT INTO A CLASS ACTION SUIT. YOU MAY CONTACT JERRY MARKS AT MARKS AND KLEIN LAW FIRM AT [redacted], IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
“I INVESTED ALOT OF MONEY IN MATCO AND AFTER 3.5 YEARS THEY SHUT ME DOWN. WHEN THE ECONOMY SLOWED IN 2008,THEY PUT ME OUT OF BUSINESS.
“I ALSO SPOKE TO A PREVIOUS EXECUTIVE, WHO CALLED ME, AND STATED THATS THE WAY MATCO DOES BUSINESS. STAY AWAY FROM MATCO TOOLS AND RUN LIKE HELL WHEN YOU SEE THEM. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY OR INVEST IN MATCO TOOLS…”
Marks & Klein is a legitimate franchise law firm that often represents franchisees in lawsuits against their franchisors, but we haven’t verified with them whether a lawsuit against Matco Tools is in the works or not.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? IS MATCO TOOLS A GOOD FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITY, A FAIR FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITY OR A FRANCHISE SCAM?

I have to say do you people really think you are your own boss being a franchisee with these tool companies? I think these companies control what you do, where you do and how you do. To me that isn't being your own boss. They put you in business and take you out like a bug. I am an independent tool dealer. I can choose my own stops, not have people tell me how much I need to buy, have to show up at meetings having people throw product on me, etc, etc. I invested around $30k cash out of my pocket without mortgaging my house or my child. I see numbers being thrown around what you people invested and I wonder... Was the kool aid being passed around on contract day? I do on average 5k a week with a 50% margin. That is 10k a month in profit. My business expenses are around $1000 including insurance, fuel, cc machine fees and reserve money for truck repairs. I make a little over a $100k a year in my pocket, going where I want, no franchise hassles, no debt, taking off anytime I want without loosing a minutes sleep only with a $30k investment. The best part is my supplier isn has conventions every year which they pay for my flight, hotel stay and even spending money. So I think you people need to look in mirror and stop trying to criticize these folks that were victims of franchise fraud. I think you are all victims. How many people in your organization make over $100k a year doing $5k a week with only $30k invested?
Guest17Why would you assume he did? Do you clean up after he poops in the floor? I bet you ate it once too, didn't you?
One time I was talking to Tom, asked how the Porsche was doing...said he sold it to get a boat. I think I would have kept the Porsche but that's just me.
One thing about Mr. Willis, he would walk around expo talking to all the DBR's, DM's, and suppliers, he was a class act!
Oh, Todd, really? Ate it?...really?
Hey I have decided I will buy every Fluke meter you have in stock...ha, ha, ha.
Good point Tool Man
How much do they pay the NHRA Sponsers? Where does all that money come from?
I don't know Tool man, but I bet your customers really like the 50% margin.
But, more power to you, if you can make it on 5k a week, I am happy for you. Nothing wrong with that.
Todd, that money comes from the sale of Oakleys, beef jerkey, collectible cars, jittery joes coffee, and clothing, I believe when you went to training in Stow, John Torok came in the room and explained that.
I wonder if we can get Antron to say CHURN and BURN BABY! At the next EVENT!
2,000 Mac DBR's in 1998. 2010, less than 500...hmm don't think I will be switching companies.
ToolMan,
Matco is going to give away 200,000 in prizes at the great giveaway dinner bet ISN can't beat that. lol
