AAMCO CEO Brett Ponton sent AAMCO franchise owners a bizarre holiday letter today that has dealers scratching their heads.
(UnhappyFranchisee.Com) The embattled transmission repair franchisor has been under fire lately on several fronts.
Attorney Jonathan Fortman has launched a group action lawsuit against AAMCO and its related entities on behalf of past and present AAMCO franchised dealers. Fortman is seeking class-action status for the lawsuit, which alleges “pervasive and blatant fraud” on the part of AAMCO (Read AAMCO Franchise Lawsuit Alleges Pervasive and Blatant Fraud).
Fortman was interviewed in the final part of a year-long investigative series by ABC News4 I-Team in Washington, D.C. exposing the alleged shady business practices of AAMCO (See AAMCO LAWSUIT Featured in NBC News4 Expose).
AAMCO is also suspected of having (unsuccessfully) attempted to stifle an anti-AAMCO website run by AAMCO critic Charles Hart (See AAMCO LAWSUIT INVESTIGATION Website Suspended [UPDATED]).
AAMCO CEO Brett Ponton’s holiday letter consists of three parts:
Part One includes what appears to be a motivational sales message about the importance of winning “the 4 Moments of Truth for our prospective customers.”
Part Two appears to be a plea to AAMCO franchisees to not join the Fortman lawsuit (this excerpt pasted below).
Part Three is an attempt to discredit the critic Charles Hart and the website where many customers, dealers and corporate employees have bashed AAMCO with nightmarish stories on both the consumer and franchise levels.

On November 22, a plaintiff lawyer from St. Louis named Jonathan Fortman filed a complaint against AAMCO, certain affiliated companies, AAMCO’s principal shareholder, and some of its former officers and directors in the federal court in Benton, Illinois. This complaint primarily involves allegations regarding AAMCO’s business practices, going back in some cases more than 10 years, related to the sale of franchises and dealings with franchisees.

AAMCO and the other defendants believe the claims in this lawsuit are completely without merit, and we intend to prove that in court if necessary. You might hear or see statements from the above-mentioned plaintiff lawyer or others commenting on this lawsuit or making other allegations against AAMCO. We do not intend to litigate this case in the media, so we likely will not publicly respond to these attacks. But we do ask you to consider the source when you see people attacking the AAMCO system and brand…
Let me assure you that we are taking the current litigation seriously, but will not allow it to distract us from pursuing those initiatives described above and rededicating ourselves here at AAMCO corporate to delivering world-class support to you. You deserve nothing less.
In order to improve the support we provide, we are sending a Franchisee survey asking you to rate each of the Support Departments so we can identify areas that need improvement. Please take the time to fill out the survey and provide us with the needed feedback.

AAMCO TRANSMISSION IN SEBRING FLORIDA IS A RIP OFF THEY LIE AND DONT DO THE GM LIES BIGTIME SHE DONT CARE
I h8 ammco!!! They done and riped me off to,many times. I think they owe me all my monies back and more for my pain n suffering.
I had a why I don't know there was nothing wrong with it I didn't okay any repairs I didn't sign any pper work any now I have nothing but problems with it. I had my engine fix by eds auto he charge 109.00 dollar. so the bottom line is I took my car to aamco tom check out my miss in the engine and they screw up my trains
I was seriously ripped off by AAMCO Monrovia, CA for 2 transmissions, when my car never needed one. (And they didn't make the repair to the power steering, which was the repair that was need). I lost about $2,000 and will be suing AAMCO for negligence, fraud and lost wages. I'd like to know where Charles Hart's website is.
AAMCOin sebring , fl is a non reliable company , they did my tranny without authorisation , then they said that it is the computer ,and now the car still dont work and they want me to paid for it and still does not work..
Well, I took my truck to chorletteville v.a to have the transmission rebuild, the first price they gave me was,1900,00 then two days later Dennis eangle called me, and said I would cost me 3300.00 to have it rebuild, and I ask him was he crazy, and I told his fat ass to show me 3300.00 dollar in parts...after they already had my truck up on the lift.. I was piss the hell off, then I told him Mike transmission would of done for1900.00, in and out the door..so I ask him how much money did I owe him for tearing it apart 600.00, so after said and done, I have 2500.00 in the transmission now, I had to take it back for it acting up again but Dennis no longer works there, and now I feel like I am being ****again, and the parts they put in it didn't last ayear, and I just drive to work and home, I think they changed me for new parts and keep them and put my use stuff back in the transmission because it haven't felt the same sense I got it..back the first time..now I took it back to have them tell me what the hell is gone on with it now...they said it was the valve body, well I was there when they was post to put the kit in it, well quess what it wasn't that, so...I told him that the torque converter was making a noise when it goes in over drive, but they say it could be the valve body,,,I was charge for 2500.00 for brand new parts, and the don't last a f****** year or 20,000 miles now they don't want to fix this problem... After I here from them 2moro and they tell me what the problem is inside the tranny,,,and if they don't cover there cheap ass parts,or lobar . and there more...its probably going to get worse if they don't take responsibility of there service...I wouldn't recommend anyone to go through what I been through with AAmco. It's bullshit..
