DonutNV Franchisees “Disgusted” as Alex & Amanda Gingold Bail on Scheduled Mediation

In addition to the dozens of DonutNV franchisees who exited the once-promising franchise chain, approximately two dozen current franchisees are reportedly trying to get out of their agreements.  Like those before them, they claim they were fraudulently induced with financial misrepresentations and the false promise the labor-intensive business could be operated “semi-absentee.”  According to anonymous sources, the franchisee coalition followed the franchisor-mandated mediation route to dispute resolution.  The franchisees, their attorney and the neutral mediator showed up for the scheduled mediation.  DonutNV founders Alex and Amanda Gingold and Gross Law Group PLC did not.  As told to Sean Kelly, founder, Franchise Truth for Veterans, Franchise Truth for All coalition.

(UnhappyFranchisee.ComSince DonutNV Franchising Inc. does not respond to requests for information or comment, and because law firms are generally unwilling or unable to comment on current and ongoing disputes, the following is an accounting of franchisee perceptions and beliefs rather than verified facts*.

According to anonymous sources, a group of nearly two dozen DonutNV franchisees retained counsel earlier this year and formally requested that DonutNV Franchising Inc. address their complaints and find a mutually acceptable resolution.

With an estimated two dozen members, the new franchisee coalition represents approximately 25% – 30% of the remaining DonutNV franchisees.

The coalition group, each of whom seek to be released from their franchise agreements, were preceded by 40%-50% of the DonutNV franchisees disclosed in the 2024 FDD that are believed to have exited the system.

Franchisees “Disgusted” at Being Stood Up by Bahamas-bound Franchisor

DonutNV franchisees, already angry at the franchisor’s unwillingness to acknowledge and address the same systemic problems investigated in our ongoing DonutNV Report, were “disgusted” by the perceived bad faith and disrespect shown for those whose investments built the DonutNV brand.

Here’s the story I received from an anonymous source or sources:

DonutNV Franchising Inc., represented by Gross Law Group attorney Travis Tarpeh, reportedly agreed to mediation with a coalition of nearly two dozen unhappy franchisees.  After agreeing on a mutually acceptable mediator, both sides scheduled initial mediation via ZOOM for Thursday, May 14 at 9:00 am.

It’s unclear when, exactly, franchisees were told the 9:00 am mediation had to be rescheduled to 7:30 PM the same day.

Just a few hours before the rescheduled mediation was to commence, after weeks of preparation and with the mediator and franchisee attorney standing by, the DonutNV coalition franchisees were informed that neither Alex nor Amanda Gingold were willing (or able – it’s unclear which) to attend scheduled (and rescheduled) mediation.

The mediation was once again rescheduled – this time for a date and time in approximately three weeks.

Coalition franchisees believe that Alex and Amanda Gingold are either already in or on their way to their favorite luxury resort in the Bahamas, Baha Mar, for a two week stay.

If Alex and Amanda Gingold are, in fact, in the Bahamas, we have reason to believe that this would be their 4th or 5th trip to the Chinese-owned island resort in 2026 alone.

The FTC Has Reportedly Received More Than a Dozen Recent DonutNV Franchisee Complaints

We’ve been told that the FTC has recently received more than a dozen formal complaints by DonutNV franchisees against DonutNV Franchising Inc. and Franchise Fastlane for alleged fraudulent misrepresentation and false or deceptive Item 19 Financial Performance Representations (FPRs).

We are in the process of requesting identity-redacted copies of DonutNV complaints filed with the FTC through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which we intend to publish publicly.

Will DonutNV Franchising Inc. sue the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for damaging its brand by investigating and sharing franchisee complaints?

Not long ago, that would have come across as an outlandish idea.

Given DonutNV Franchising Inc.’s track record, Alex and Amanda Gingold would likely be willing to offer big bucks for their law firms to bully the FTC.

And, given the track records of their law firms, they’d likely take it.
